The background

Portlaoise Enterprise Centre offers new and developing businesses a fully managed facility including many great amenities such as – individual and shared office spaces, large and small conference rooms, canteen areas, a fully equipped training room and all at keen rates.

Our brief was simple, a complete over haul of their current website, addressing any barriers or issues that visitors might encounter. We were also tasked with making the new website as friendly to mobile visitors as possible. This meant making the website fast to load on mobile devices as well as making the content mobile friendly.

What we did

A number of items needed to be addressed including the current website and what elements could be taken from it and reused, therefore saving the time it would take to reproduce these elements on the new website.

The new website, was completely built from the ground up using a newer framework then the current website. Its layout, functionality and content were all tailored to work together, to make navigating the website and understanding its content as easy as possible for the visitor.

Along with the normal website functionality that we always place in every new website build and rebuild. Dual content elements were implemented to allow for different content to be shown to the visit depending on the type of device the visitor was viewing the website on. This meant “Call Now” button could be used on the website when being viewed on a smart phone, while “Contact Us” buttons could be displayed at the same place if the website was being viewed on a desk top PC or Laptop.

While our brief out-lined the websites human visitors needs, it also needed to address the non-human visitors needs. In other words making the website as friendly as possible to search engines like “Google & Bing” but making it unattractive to “Malicious Spam bots and hackers”. A number of website optimisation and SEO processes were included in the new website to help move it up through the search result pages of the main search engines. While at the same time, many anti spam and security measures were implemented to maximise the websites resistance to any and all attacks.

This new website combines both function and style in its approach to its visitors. Its layout and makeup help all genuine visitors find the information they at looking if and its dual content features make it as easy as possible to convert those visitors to enquiries. The website’s security and anti Spam features prevent any negative impact on the website.
